Twinning in Woking

WTTA is an independent organisation founded in the early 1980s and is responsible for town twinning in Woking.  It is run by a Management Committee of members elected by the Association together with representatives of the Council.  Membership of the Association is open to everyone.

The Worshipful the Mayor of Woking is our President.

WTTA:

• organises and facilitates twinning events
• assists with and encourages the setting up of links between organisations and groups in Woking and its twin towns
• offers small 'pump priming' grants to organisations needing assistance with a first twinning project
• seeks  to maintain the strong bonds of friendship between Woking and all three of its twin towns
• organises social events throughout the year (including visits to our twin towns, and day trips nearer to home) to help us keep in touch with  members
• publishes four newsletters each year to keep members up to date with initiatives and to provide a forum for the exchange of news and ideas
• promotes twinning in the community through talks and displays.
