Woking Cycle Users' Group

Cycle Rides for Inexperienced Cyclists

CYCLE RIDES FOR INEXPERIENCED RIDERS

If you are not very experienced at cycling, why not come on one of our short cycle rides?

Woking Cycle Users´ Group runs organised cycle rides every month during the summer. All rides start at 2 p.m. on a Sunday from outside the Woking Leisure Centre off Kingfield Road. Put these dates in your diaries now: rides will be on the third Sunday of each month, so the rides will be on 16 March, 20 April, 18 May, 15 June, 20 July, 17 August, 21 September and 19 October. As well as these regular rides there will be longer rides on Sundays 29 June and 7 September, starting at the same time, but riding a bit faster and finishing later. If people wish, I may arrange an all-day ride in early October.

The cost is £1 for members of Woking Cycle Users´ Group and £2 for non-members.

Ø Ability - Ideal for novices not used to riding a bicycle any distance.

Ø Route - Most routes will be on tracks and minor roads. The rides will be about 10-15 miles long and will take approximately 2 - 2 ½ hours. Sometimes we stop for tea, but I can´t guarantee this. The two longer rides will be a bit faster and finish later.

Ø Where to meet? In the car park at Woking Leisure Centre near the childrens´ playground at 1.50pm, ready to leave at 2 p.m.

Ø What about children? Sorry, no unaccompanied children under 15, but accompanied children are welcome provided they are strong enough to cycle at a slow adult pace. They will need a proper bike with gears and at least 20" wheels.

The rides will be led by Ian Wright, other members of the Cycle Users´ Group, or experienced CTC leaders.

If you would like to know more about the rides, please phone or text Ian on 07969-506906 or email iankwright@hotmail.com .
