The Society engages professional musicians to perform concerts of classical music as soloists or chamber ensembles.
All concerts are open to the public.
The Society is now in its 91st season. Famous performers of the past include Dame Myra Hess, Kathleen Ferrier, Artur Rubinstein, Gerald Moore, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Dame Janet Baker, the Amadeus String Quartet, Julian Bream, Radu Lupu, and more recently the brilliant young violinist Lisa Batiashvili and Elisabeth Watts, winner of the Cardiff Singer of the World competition lieder section.
All concerts take place in the Kemp Room of the H. G. Wells Centre, a pleasant venue centrally situated near a good car park and just a short walk from Woking Railway Station. In the concert intervals the Griffin Room bar is open, serving coffees and teas in addition to the usual cold drinks.
The single ticket price of £12 is good value, but you can save money by booking for three or more concerts. The more you book, the more you save; see our website for details.
