The Maybury Centre

ChildCare in the Community

The Child Care in the Community Creche is managed by the Maybury Centre Trust, it is funded by both Woking Borough Council and the Big Lotteries Fund.

The Creche runs term-time only and is held every morning from 9.15 - 11.45am and on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 12.30 - 2.30pm.

The Creche supports many projects within the Centre and provides a wonderful, safe and vibrant atmosphere for the children who come here every day.  It has an experienced and dedicated team of staff, one of whom speaks five community languages.  They work closely with the Surrey Family Learning and Early Years and Childcare Organisations to ensure we offer the best facilites that we can.

The Creche is fully Ofsted regulated and recieved a glowing report on its last inspection.

The Creche Staff are:

Elaine McGinty ~ Project Manager

Alison Shaw ~ Supervisor

Geraldine Norsworthy ~ Deputy Supervisor

Nusrat Ahmed ~ Creche Worker

Pauline Gunn ~ Creche Worker

The Creche, this past year, has supported and worked closely with Guildford College's Community English Scheme, Woking College English Lanuage and IT Learning Classes, The Friendship Group, Liaise Womens Centre, Health Promotion Service and Surrey Womens Aid.

It continues to succeed in supporting parents who need access to training by providing quality childcare on site, thus making a valuable contribution to reducing isolation and barriers to racial equality.
