Programme 2009

Our indoor meetings are held at Chobham Village Hall, Station Road, Chobham, GU24 8AQ beginning at 8.0 pm. There is an entrance charge of £2 except for November which is £4. Visitors are welcome at all our meetings.

  • Tuesday 10 February - An inordinate fondness of moths, illustrated talk by Paul Wheeler.

                                                     

                        

  • Tuesday 10 March  - Woodlands in the future with ongoing climate change, illustrated talk by Gill Stribley.

  • Tuesday 21 April - Madagascar - its people and its wildlife, illustrated talk by Una Sutcliffe.

  • Tuesday 12th February - Wildlife on the wing, illustrated talk by Ron Croucher.

  • Tuesday 8th April - Surrey Wildlife Trust grazing project, illustrated talk by Grazing Officer James Adler.
  • Sunday 14 September - Ecology of Surrey“s native ferns on Wisley Heath, guided walk by Ranger John Wilsher. Meet at 2 pm at Wren“s Nest  car park (Grid ref. TQ 065587) by Wisley Lane.

  • Tuesday 7 October - News from Surrey Wildlife Trust, illustrated talk by Chief Excecutive Nigel Davenport.

  • Thursday 20 November - Whales and Dolphins on our doorstep, illustrated talk by John Arnott of the Biscay Dolphin Research Programme. Joint meeting with the West Surrey Natural History Society.

  • Tuesday 13th February - A personal view of the habitats of Surrey, illustrated talk by John Edwards, Surrey County Council Ecologist.

  • Tuesday 17th April - Living invertebrates under the video microscope, talk and demonstration by Julie Lang, SWT Education Officer. 
  • Tuesday 9 October - Surrey“s heathland wilderness, illustrated talk by Rob McGibbon, leader of the Surrey Heathland Project.

  • Thursday 15 November - Ancient trees - our living heritage, illustrated talk by Ted Green of the Windsor Crown Estate. Joint meeting with the West Surrey Natural History Society.
