The aim of Reuse Networks is to promote and assist with the establishment of reuse networks within and between neighbourhoods, companies, schools and other organisations (which revolve around a network of individuals that periodically meet up).
The two underlying objectives of the reuse networks are to reduce individual levels of consumption and to reduce the quantity of waste that is sent to landfill. The former objective relates directly to helping combat climate change.
There are numerous other benefits that ensue from such networks including the following:
The Reuse Networks initiative commenced in September 2006 and is seeking volunteers in any part of the country to set up such a network in their neighbourhood or organisation. Volunteers will be provided with all the information they need to set up and run a network, together with on-going support. Anyone can volunteer to set up a network and participating in a network is free. If you are, or may be, interested, please e-mail reuse.netwks@btinternet.com with your name and postcode, for further information.
