 A very sad time at LCAG and on Lakeview

We at LCAG and in the Lakeview Community were saddened to learn of the death of our dear Youth and Community Leader Heatherann  Weaver. Heatherann has been a pillar of strength to the people on Lakeview, a good friend and mother who worked to help people in the "Hands On" training project and in her group "Lift Up Together" and also in her Youth work with "Buzzy Beez" right up until her untimely end.  We give our sympathy and support to her family and especially her two daughters and son and we will strive to carry on the good work she started so that this will grow and continue in the future.  The funeral will be on May 13th 2pm at St Andrews Church. Funding News

April 2008

LCAG are very pleased to announce they have recieved a grant of £103,000 of core funding from the Henry Smith Trust. This grant ensures we will be able to continue our project work on Lakeview Estate for another three years. This gives great recognition to the value of our work on behalf of residents over the last four yeas.

August 2006 LCAG achieves charitable status and our charity number is 1115704

"Hands On" January 2007 Our education and training IT classes have won a national award from Microsoft Community Learning Awards. Our project with its "train the trainer" model for supporting volunteers was picked from over 400 entries nationwide to show innovation and a clear objective to bridge the digital divide on Lakeview. This gives us £2500 to spend on staff training, delivering courses and new equipment.  Our internet cafe on a monday night 6.45 - 9pm is looking better than ever!
