Surrey Air Ambulance Appeal

Surrey is one step closer to having its own Air Ambulance with the appointment of their Campaign Manager.

Julie Jenkinson from Woking joined the charity on January 9 and will be organising events and working with clubs, associations and businesses in Surrey to take the Surrey Air Ambulance Appeal up to the next level.

Julie, who was previously Fundraising Manager for the Woking Hospice said ‘ I gained a great deal of experience in community and corporate fundraising, setting up a lottery and organising events whilst I was at the Hospice and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

However I am looking forward to this new and exciting challenge of fundraising to bring Surrey it’s own Air Ambulance’.
Surrey is one of only five counties who currently do not have their own Air Ambulance. The Appeal which is headed by Penelope Keith began in June 2005 and has already raised over £50,000.

Kent Air Ambulance who are conducting the Appeal have been flying in that county for over 15 years and from last November have been available to respond to medical emergencies in Surrey from their base in Kent.
David Philpott, chief executive said ‘ We are really pleased that Julie has joined us as our Surrey Campaign Manager.

As well as the wealth of experience she will bring, she has extensive local knowledge of Surrey and as a resident herself can see the great value in Surrey having its own Air Ambulance.

I am confident that she will be successful in helping us to reach our second goal of £250,000 so that we can place the order for a second helicopter.’
