Woking Model Yacht Club
A new radio sailing club has been formed at Woking in Surrey. The Woking Model Yacht Club commenced its activities in July 2005 at Goldsworth Lake, Goldsworth Park, Woking, Surrey.
The clubs principal yacht classes are IOM, RM, and 10R.
Simon Jeffs the club commodore said
“ The new sailing venue, close to London and 3 miles from the M25 motorway with it’s 17 acre lake and 4metre depth has the potential to develop into a major model yacht centre. The water is weed free and maintained at a constant depth by the owners Thames Water. It is therefore unaffected by drought conditions. The shore facilities are excellent with easy access, plenty of free parking, café’s and toilets”
Woking MYC is affiliated to the Model Yacht Association. MYA members and newcomers are most welcome to join the club. Sailing days are Friday and Sunday from 11am.
