Long Lane Cottage which is now in Clifton Way, Goldsworth Park, Bridge Barn (now a pub) and Langmans which is now in Langmans Lane, Goldsworth are both thought to have been built in this century (16th Century).
They are now Grade II Listed buildings and are Timber framed.

English Reformation. Thomas Cromwell (Henry's chief adviser) gets Parliament to produce the Act against Annates (which was later suspended) to threaten the Pope's ecclesiastical revenues. The newly appointed Archbishop of Canterbury Cranmer declares the marriage invalid. Henry then marries Anne Boleyn. As the Pope responds with excommunication, Parliament then enacts Henry's decision to break with the Roman Catholic Church. Another Act forbids appeals to Rome and that the King and England was completely sovereign.

Guy (Guido) Fawkes's part of the Gunpowder Plot (blowing up the old House of Lords building with the King and his Parliament by setting light to the barrels of saltpetre that had been placed in the undercroft) was discovered on November 5th.
If the Plot had succeeded it has been proven (by a test explosion in Cumbria) that all would have died within the building and there would have been much destruction in the village of Westminster.
Buildings in Surrey across the River such as Lambeth Palace would have suffered broken windows and blast damage.
The rebellion that was planned by disaffected rebels and Catholics was started anyway in the Midlands, but was defeated.
