1984-2006 GPCA Childrens Christmas Parties

At the 2007 A.G.M. it was announced by the GPCA Chairman that there will be no GPCA Childrens Christmas Party.

In recent years it was run by Lakeside Church and just had the GPCA in a publicity role through the newspaper.

Despite it being FREE, attendance was low. So it has been decided not to do one this year. As well as being sad in itself, it also marks the official end to the GPCA's (and GPRA's before it) long run of being a social events organisation.

The other two that stopped recently were ironically both popular events. The GPCA Car boot died when the supermarket started opening on Bank Holidays and the GPCA Gala (Party in the Park) died when the insurance charge became to high to make it worthwhile.

Looking at the archives there have been many different social events in the past such as Fireworks, Trips to France, Barn Dances, Discos and so on. The GPCA continues to provide a service to us all as the trustees of the GPCA Hall at Goldwater Lodge and also representing us on many local bodies. We hope to do a report on the full AGM soon, but the officers of the committee were elected unopposed with no other candidates putting themselves forward. Thank you to those that attended.
