Scrolling back throgh this weblog will reveal my concerns with the whole reconfiguration of zebras etc around the top of White Rose Lane. I have long argued that there are serious road safety issues that the County Council seem to have ignored.

I was puzzled to receive a Conservative leaflet through my door yesterday asking me as a resident to sign a petition for an independent safety audit. I was assured by County Highways, at the time I raised those concerns,  that a safety audit would be done once the works were finished. Did that safety audit not happen? The Conservative Councillor whose picture is on the leaflet is also a County Councillor and was Chair of the Local Committee, which deals with Highways matters, when these plans were approved and implemented. Perhaps she can explain why the audit didn't happen or if it did why she now wants an independent one. Are County Highways safety audits not satisfactory?
