Having spent much time complaining to Surrey County Council Highways Dept (you probably remember various photos in our Focus leaflets of either Ian or myself risking life and limb pointing out the state of the humps) work was finally carried out before Xmas. And guess what - the work is a disaster! The humps are far too steep and residents risk damaging their cars each time they drive that way. One of the humps - at York Rd junction - has been patched up but not very successfully. Apparently one of the humps is already breaking up.
Several residents have been in touch over this and after several emails to County Highways and trying to involve your County Councillor (whose job this should be!) there was a site meeting. The result is that the work has been deemed unsatisfactory and the contractors will have another go at it before the end of February.
Could this be why the part of our Council tax that goes to Surrey is so high!
