Events

Indoor meetings.

All indoor meetings are held in the Goldsworth Room in Christ Church Halls in Woking town centre. The entrance is in Church Path. Meetings are usually held on a Monday evening at 7:45pm for an 8:00pm start. Please note that there is no parking at the Church. Victoria Way car park is close by.

Visitors are welcome at our meetings - entrance fee is £3.00. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Booking is essential for all meetings, please contact 01932 352188.

Please note that we do not have facilities for the disabled.

Refreshments are available.

Dr Rob McGibbon will give an illustrated talk about the achievements of the Surrey Heathland Project and tell us about the plans for the future.

13th October 2008.

Club AGM followed by a video.

10th November 2008.

Mary Braddock, leader of the North West Surrey RSPB Group, will give an illustrated talk about The Birds of Finland.

12th January 2009.

Andrew Cleave will give an illustrated talk about Costa Rica - Central America's wildlife paradise.

Andrew ran the Bramley Firth Environmental Education Centre near Basingstoke for many years and is author of a number of books on natural history and biology. He is also a natural history tour guide.

9th February 2009.

Ralph and Brenda Todd, who have travelled widely on birding holidays, will give an illustrated talk "Where the waters roar and the vultures soar ".

This two part talk is based on visits to Iceland and the Spanish Pyrenees. Iceland has a small bird list including waders and skuas and some spectacular waterfalls. The Pyrenees have high peaks, birds of prey, flowers, dragonflies and butterflies.

Brian Sugden, a local wildlife photographer, will give an illustrated talk "The Birds of Northumberland".

20th April 2009.

John Richardson, a nature and travel photographer, will give an illustrated talk on the Wildlife of Namibia  followed by an account of raptor migration witnessed at Vera Cruz.
