DIRECTIONS

From M3 Junction 3

Take A322 towards Guildford. At roundabout take A319 (Bagshot Road) signposted to Chobham. Follow the road all the way into Chobham. At the mini roundabout (What Not Antiques in front of you) turn left (Windsor Road) then take first right into Chertsey Road. Continue for approximately one mile and take left turn (Stonehill Road) to Lyne - look out for CCRA signs. Venue about half a mile on left - will be signposted at entrance.

From M25 Junction 11

Take A320 along dual carriageway towards Woking/Chobham. At the roundabout bear left into Guildford Road - after c. 200yds pass Ambulance Station on right. At the next roundabout (Harvester Pub on left) take 3rd exit (Chertsey Road) then immediate right (Foxhills Road). Follow this road to the end. At the T-junction turn left into Stonehill Road. Follow for approximately 1 mile. Venue on right - will be signposted at entrance.

Information

Entry Fee - £15.00 per rider, non-refundable. Late entries accepted on the day subject to availability - additional £2.00 payable.

CCRA MEMBERS £12.50 OR £14.50 ON THE DAY

Start Time - You will be allocated a start time as near to the time requested as possible. This will be posted to you 7 days prior to the event. Riders will be started in pairs. Please indicate on the entry form with whom you wish to ride (if anybody).

The Ride - You may choose either the 5 or 12 mile ride route. Lead-rein ponies, disabled riders and children are welcome. Riders under 18 need a signature from a parent or guardian. There is no time limit, but all riders are requested to return by 3.30pm so that Stewards can clear the course.

Sponsorship/Donation - It is hoped that all entrants will raise additional monies and that they are ideally paid on the day. Prizes for more than £40 sponsorship monies raised if paid on the day.

Awards & Trophies - A Commemorative Rosette will be awarded to all completing the ride. The George Holland Challenge Trophy is awarded to the Best Turned Out Horse and Rider. This is judged on overall appearance and condition of both horse and rider, including tack. Peter Herd Memorial Trophy for the Happiest Disabled Rider, The Stones Throw Trophy for Youngest Rider. Michael Grylls Trophy for the oldest horse and rider combination. If you wish to qualify for any of these, please be at the start 15 minutes before your allocated time.

Rules

  1. The Entry Fee, which is non-refundable, must be enclosed with the Entry Form together with a 1st class stamped addressed envelope for your start time.

  2. Sponsor Forms and full amount raised should, where possible be presented to the Secretary on the day of the ride. Alternatively, it would be appreciated if all outstanding monies could be forwarded by 24th October 2008.

  3. On completion of the ride, you should return your number to the Secretary who can then confirm your return.

  4. Please be considerate to all other users of the Common. All road crossings will be marshalled. No galloping on the ride. Riders must keep to the designated paths and obey Stewards and other Officials.

  5. Horses and ponies must be 4 years old or over. No stallions.

  6. BS approved hard hats and safe footwear must be worn and correctly secured at all times when mounted. Tack should be in safe repair. Non-compliance can result in withdrawal of permission to take part in the ride.

  7. No horses allowed in the vicinity of the Secretary's area.

  8. No liability attaches to the organising committee for anything that may happen to entrants, onlookers, their property, servants, horses or ponies in connection with or arising from the event. The organising committee reserve the right to alter the arrangements or cancel the event if deemed necessary without giving prior reasons.

  9. Health & Safety. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health & Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, and all Officials and Stewards.

  10. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times otherwise you could be asked to leave the field.
