Best laid plans and all that and then just before the start Tom K was in pain and it turns out he has somehow sustained hyper extended tendons in his foot. This led to hasty changes with Chris South coming in for his first game of the season into midfield which was already missing the reliable Ant B. It was also good to welcome back Harry Lee following the birth of his child. But our tactic of changing keepers at half time still seems to work.
The first 35 minutes were very mcuh Farncombe who dominated midfield but were unable to break down some resolute defending. But a corner and slack defending let Farncombe in for two quick goals and so while they deserved the lead, it could have been even steven.
The second half was still very mcuh one way traffic although we came close with a number of attacks leading to free kicks close to their goal, and corners but sadly none could be converted into goals. The a break away and a foul (not seen by the referee) - we would say that wouldn't we - and Farncombe scored their third.
But this was not all bad, again we kept going for the full 90 minutes and for the first time our second half performance was better than our first.
