Byfleet Heritage Society aims to present and make available the history, natural history and other aspects of life in Byfleet and the nearby area to anyone and everyone interested. Byfleet has a long and rich history stretching back to the Bronze Age. Famous historical figures such as the Black Prince and Queen Anne of Denmark have lived at the manor. Byfleet Heritage Centre was set up to display some of this history and was opened by Sir Cliff Richard on 1st February 1996. The Centre is situated in Byfleet Library, High Road, Byfleet, Surrey KT14 7QN, and is open during library hours (Tuesday 10am - 4pm. Wednesday 6-8pm. Thursday 3-5pm. Friday 10am - 4pm. Saturday 9.30am-3pm. Sunday 2-4pm.). The Society holds meetings once a month with speakers on various topics of historical interest, and a chance to chat over tea or coffee afterwards.
