Age Concern Woking

Age Concern Woking is an independent local charity and its aim is to help to enhance the quality of life for older people in the Borough of Woking. We provide free the following three services:-

BEFRIENDING We will visit any lonely, older person living in the Borough. Visits are normally weekly and last for at least one hour. Many lasting friendships have been formed through these visits.

INFORMATION AND SUPPORT We will do our best to help find a solution to any problem that an older person may have, and will keep in touch until it is solved.

FREE HOME FIRE RISK CHECKS We have volunteers who have been trained by Surrey Fire and Rescue to carry out home fire risk checks in the homes of older people in the Borough.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS If you can spare an hour a week, are kind and patient and have epathy with older people we would love to hear from you.

At present our office, in Woking Fire Station, is manned between 10 and 1 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, our phone calls are monitored daily and appointments can be made for other times.
