Conditions and Terms of Agreement Purpose

The purpose of this community website is to encourage, assist and promote ‘not-for-profit’ organisations, groups, clubs and societies that serve the community in Woking, to enable them to share information and publicise their activities, events and services, and to provide reliable and up to date local community information.

The purpose of Window on Woking is not to provide a platform for individuals, groups or organisations to conduct personal or political campaigns, or to promote a particular set of views or beliefs.

Window on Woking does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any information published on this website, and is not liable for any loss or damage incurred as a consequence of information published on the website.

Conditions

By registering with Window on Woking, you are accepting sole responsibility for the accuracy of any information you publish on the website, and you may be liable for any loss or damage incurred as a consequence of content added by you.

You agree to be bound by the following conditions:

1. You agree to provide true, accurate, and up-to-date information about yourself using the Window on Woking registration form and you will maintain and update that information to keep it accurate and up-to-date
2. All data, text, images or other information ('content') whether displayed within the public area of the website, or within a restricted area, are the sole responsibility of the person who uploaded that content. Window on Woking does not guarantee the accuracy, legality or quality of such Content.
3. You agree not to upload any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, libellous or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
4. You agree not to upload any content that you do not have a right to transmit under any law or under contractual or financial relationships

7. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any links that you make to any other websites are maintained up to date. You must also ensure that any other sites that are linked to your content do not include unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, libellous or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable content.

Window on Woking is provided for use by not-for-profit organisations and you agree not use the website to engage in commercial activities, and not to advertise or sell goods or services.

All content on Window on Woking is monitored by Support and may be passed to the police if suspected to be unlawful orpromoting an illegal activity.

Providing Rights to Members of an Organisation ('Accounts')

In registering an organisation with Window on Woking, you are the 'Editor' for your organisation, and you may grant special rights (accounts) to individuals to view restricted content, and to adopt ‘Publisher’ status. The decision to grant or withhold membership accounts to another person is the sole decision of the Editor(s) of an organisation, and Window on Woking Support will not intervene in this decision.

Removal of content and exclusion or termination of membership of an organisation registered with Window on Woking

Window on Woking Support may without prior notice suspend or terminate use of the website by a registered organisation if it is deemed to have contravened any of the above conditions. Window on Woking shall reserve the right to refuse an organisation an account to publish on the website if Support are insufficiently satisfied that an organisation's use of the website is consistent with the purpose of the website, or that its use complies with these Conditions and Terms of Agreement.

Window on Woking shall not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of an organisation's account.

Data Protection

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 the personal information you have provided to Window on Woking will be held on computer and may be used for purposes in connection with the community website.

Window on Woking shall not pass on your details to any other organisation or individual, other than for the purpose of developing new services or other information relating to the website.

Privacy Policy

All Editors and Publishers are required to adhere to Window on Woking's Privacy Policy. This sets out Woking Borough Council’s commitment to individual's privacy, and explains the ways in which Window on Woking collects, stores and uses personal and non-personal information when people visit the website. Editors and Publishers may only use personal details to contact people in respect of their organisation’s web pages or its activities.

Updating

Window on Woking reserves the right to amend or modify these Conditions and Terms of Agreement at any time.
