General update
-
As autumn begins the leaves are starting to fall, the cleansing schedule for the highway tends to deal with most of the leaf fall however where there are main roads or areas where there has been large accumulations previously Serco will commence the leaf clearance schedule. Last year there were very few complaints and by continuing the same process I hope this success will be repeated.
-
Serco is continuing with the grass cutting programme and also maintenance of the highway vegetation. Where hedges or vegetation this can be reported to Surrey County Council Highways. The link to the online form to report such issues is:

-
Anti-social behaviour problems are still occurring intermittently and tend to be confined to certain areas. Graffiti and vandalism has been an issue at St Peters Recreation ground, Woking Park and especially Westfield Common where the play equipment was destroyed by fire and this area will now remain closed until future notice. The Council, Police and other local groups are continuing to tackle this problem.
-
As mentioned previously, graffiti ‘tags’ and messages appear on play equipment and public buildings. Serco remove graffiti on behalf on Woking Borough Council and we ask that you help by informing the Council Offices on 01483 755855 if you see any graffiti.
-
The number of abandoned vehicles reported in Old Woking, Kingfield and Westfield during the last three months is 10, it is pleasing to see this is at a very low level. Woking Borough Council also has the powers to remove untaxed vehicles on behalf of the DVLA and a contractor covers the whole of the Borough removing vehicles.
-
If members of the public would like to report any issues such as litter, fly-tips, overgrown highways vegetation or graffiti, Woking Borough Councils partners Serco can be contacted directly on 01483 755422.
