'Tune In' event at Goldsworth Park evaluation

Summation of the Evaluation of the Public Workshop Goldsworth Park 21st March.

Introduction

On the evening of the 21st of March a public workshop was held at the generation centre on Goldsworth Park at which 80 members of the public attended, all were given 16 question evaluation sheet to complete at the end of the evening.

Thirty eight of these evaluation sheets were received back in various stages of completion.

Each question was provided with five possible answers from strongly disagree (scoring 1 in the evaluation) through to strongly agree (scoring 5 in the evaluation).

Purpose

The intention of this paper is to provide the results gathered via the evaluation forms to inform the review process associated with this event and the development of future events, with conclusions and recommendations coming from that review process.

Method

Table one below is based on the evaluation sheet and modified to include the total number of choices recorded for each answer.

The number beside each response becomes the value for that response and the total score is obtained by adding the values for each response, to produce a summated scale.

Additional columns have been added to illuminate this process with a column to indicate

  • Where the question has not been attempted or the answer is illegible, these are discounted in the scoring process.

  • The theoretical maximum score for each question, discounting those above.

  • The actual score

  • The actual score expressed as a percentage of a theoretical maximum score.

Following Likert (1932) the higher the percentage rating the greater the collective approval from those completing the form.

Annex One

Any other comments about the workshop.

  • I found the workshop highly beneficial and a constructive use of time. I feel more positive about the area and look forward to positive changes.

  • Some local councillors listened - others had too much to say.

  • Thank you - lets have more.

  • Very useful until members of council took over the discussions.

  • A promising start. I hope it continues.

  • I would like to know how I can access service providers in terms of PCSO, Police Panels, Youth service - if I want to contact outreach programme/offer volunteering.

  • Extremely well run. I juts hope anti social behaviour can be addressed and that it can be improved.

  • Neighbourhood is undefined. There are groups of concerned citizens but no sense of community.

  • Good Start - great sense of "buy in" from most participants.

  • How is this followed up.

  • Very useful, I am aware of more services available. Feel frustrated that I can't get a response form the Police as they are so short staffed.

  • I found the conversation in the group negative though towards the end there was some positive comments.

  • Lake = Lighting /CCTV /Section 30 /No Alcohol thank you.

  • St Andrews Church provides a lot of activities and opportunities for voluntary work.

  • A good start. Please can we ensure we follow up on this and turn it into a positive step forward.
